Normal

If is full of blood and lymph fluid.

It has a nice pink colour with no red inflamation or veining. The internal wounds will heal, stop leaking and the body will absorb the fluid over the next few days.

I 2nd what Dood said. Looks normal. If you're overly concerned about it you can ice them a little to help with the swelling, but they look good to me!

Ummm - Daisy???

You don't normally hear Daisy and testicles in the same sentence. I just found it funny.

Hope Daisy gets to feeling all better soon. I think they look awful, but I've never had a rabbit neutered either.

I would recommend that you exercise him a couple of times a day, having him run around vigorously for about 15 minutes. That is the recommendation when horses are gelded to prevent fluid build up in the scrotal sacs.

I would not recommend this for your rabbit or for any closed castration.

In horses and some other livestock (and some cat castrations) the incision is left open to drain out, so exercise keeps the wound open and to helps clear out the fluids.

In castrations where the incision is sutured shut, rest is the best practice so you are not increasing the fluids which are basically trapped inside.

Jack hated me for a while after I got him fixed XD It will go away after a few weeks :) Lots of rest ( and treats every now and then to let Daisy know you didn't mean for this awful thing to happen) Good luck!

Thanks everyone, Daisy was supposed to be a girl when I got him- I think the breeder had a whole litter that looked exactly the same and she accidentally gave me a boy but I thought it was a girl at first named him Daisy and stuck. Peach its good to hear he will go back to being himself because I've read a lot of people complaining that after their bun was neutered they stopped being as sweet as before. I hope he stays the same because he is super sweet.

they might blame it on the neutering but the rabbit is just maturing into an adult and not as goofy as a baby bun.

These are the same people who buy cute widdle kittens and puppies, then ditch them as adults when they are no longer so cuddly and affectionate but more independent minded like NORMAL adults :(

When they are bucks, they loose that "mate" with you vibe. So don't really expect him to hum and buzz around your feet anymore as he did before. It will take a few weeks for the testosterone to leave the system so it won't go all at once. Jack did loose part of his personalty after the neutering. I did regret it slightly because of that but also because he did come down with snuffles shortly afterward. I also had so many bunny scents from the growing rabbitry, the spraying was becoming a problem. (gave me a good squirt in the eye one day and he went in the next to the vets office!)I think they go more in the doe direction (for obvious reasons) but I think it depends on the individual rabbit. Just wait and see.

Daisy's testicle is bleeding a little and is more purple and swollen. And there's like two small ulcers in identical places under each testicle- might be where testicles are rubbing. Do the ulcers look infected (there's white but not red around the ulcer)? Can the vet do something to make that better? I'm afraid to put ice on it because I think any pressure will hurt him.

Today is day 4 and the skin still looks nice and pink to me. There is some bruising turning the left scrotum (on the right in the pic) a bit dark but it doesn't look like infection. Some leakage is normal, the fluid looks like watered down blood and not tinted with puss so still OK

The "ulcers" are scent glands or their waxy discharge and look normal.

The vet likely gave a shot of antibiotics on Monday and as long as there is no infection just let his body heal itself.

Is the rabbit wearing a cone/collar so he cannot lick? What kind of flooring is he on? I ask because it looks like he may be licking the incision or the scrotum could be chafing on the floor of his cage.

Does your vet have an email you can sent these pics to? That is what I would do...looks like Daisy is licking/biting the area and making it irritated.
