Wanted to share some pictures of my babies. They are now 3.5 weeks, and the sweetest little things ever! This is my first litter, so I'm holding them and loving on them a ton - its hard not to get attached. I would of liked to keep both the does but I'm limiting myself to just one as mom doesn't have the strongest meat qualities. I still think I have one buck and two does. But as I've ZERO experience sexing rabbits, there is a really good chance I'm wrong!

Broken magpie tri doe (is this the correct term... or is it just magpie??). This is the kit I am thinking of keeping :D

Very cute :)
Broken means the white so I think your right with the broken magpie. Or maybe she is a dilute tri?

Magpie is black and white, I'm confused lol Dilute harli is grey and orange, so a dilute harli broken could be a dilute tri right? Magpie has some gene that removes the orange color. I need more sleep :)

Thank you for the compliments! :)

Hhmmm from my understanding Magpie is the pattern and not the color per say. The ideal is half black/half white face and corresponding ear and leg. Anything outside of that is labeled 'broken' ... so basically an imperfect pattern. But it can be hard to tell what is broken and what is not, based on phenotype alone, as the Magpie pattern already has white in it. I'm told a broken Harli/Magpie is technically a Tri color in both cases, but once the broken gene is added the lines/bars of color turn more into spots. Please correct me if I'm wrong but a Magpie rabbit is basically a Harlequin carrying the Chinchilla gene that supresses the orange of the Harli?

Is it possible she is a blue Magpie? Her color is very light and the dark spots look dark blue instead of black like her sibling. I guess its hard to tell though since she doesn't have much pattern to begin with :/

I would have to keep them all. They are so cute.
I really like the little guy. he has the look of Royalty.

Thank you CWD! I really like him too :) he is sooo laid back and sweet! I'd keep him in a heart beat except I already have a superior buck, not enough cage space and I desperately NEED does lol. Momma of this litter is a dirty rabbit, too small and is just getting over mastitis so she is on the chopping board as soon as I can wean them. Which will leave me with only one blue NZ doe!
