So the angoras are doing a lot better.

I gave Margie a bath today, finished shaving her down too.

All of her sores are healed up. Sores from matts, sore hocks, etc. Just gone. Amazing what a shave and some good care will do! She's also put on weight since I've had her. She's feeling more "brick like" and less boney.

Richard on the other hand is not doing quite as well as Margie. All of his sores EXCEPT his hock sores have healed up. His hock sores look about the same... I put some antibiotic ointment on it, rubbed it in good, then wiped off the excess so he doesn't lick it off.

He has a resting board and wire. He spends most of his time on the board. Is there any chance the board is doing it?

He also had lots of poop stuck to his butt and testes so I washed that area up good. I think since he's fairly paralyzed on his hindquarters this will be an ongoing issue. It's shaved really close, but still getting pooped up.

I would love any more suggestions on how to heal up his hocks. He seems like he's doing really good other than that issue.

So thanks for all the advice, you guys really helped me save these little cuties!

Glad the doe is doing well, but I can't help but wonder that if poor Richard has hock sores still, it could be due to his partial paralysis. Does he seem to drag his back feet much when he walks? He could potentially be causing the sores from not healing if all of the new progress is undone by them getting drug along. It's the only thing I can think of that makes sense.

Hope to can figure it out soon, and glad they are in much better hands

I agree, the possible dragging, even if only a little, could be keeping them open. :(

Can you give him a shallow, but wide box full of chopped straw or something similarly soft?
