Turnip kraut

I tried this on HT and didn't get much of a response.

Anyone ever make turnip kraut?

I've found plenty of recipes, simply looking for somone who eats it to tell me what its like.

I have plenty of turnips this fall, way more than I'll ever eat fresh.

Fermented vegetables seem to be making a come-back. Iggysbabysitter gave me a jar of fermented carrot sticks (delicious) and I am contemplating sauerkraut. Here's a link about turnip kraut.

I love pickles of all sorts, turnip kraut sounds like something I need to try

The Polish families in my old neighborhood used to make it. It isn't all that different in taste from cabbage kraut but a little crunchier. The strands are shorter so it goes into sandwiches quite well.
