Half of my rabbits do that, so I give them all 2 crocks and refill them as often as I can with fresh cold well water. No pics as they know if I walk by, I'm either moving them, feeding or refilling water...

awwww thats cute

hm... wonder if i have enough bowls i could put ice water in the cages...

How cute! My husband is trying to talk me into New Zealand Reds. Yours are very nice and how smart of them to get in the water!

I go down to NC this weekend to pick up another Beveren so we'll see what I come home to NJ with (the breeder also has NZReds and Americans).

My Beverens have crocks that I refill and refill with cold water and ice cubes but they don't lay in their bowls that I have seen. They wait for me to bring frozen bottles, tiles, mist them down or turn the sprinkler on and then get wet and then go back where it is dry.

I put a frozen jug of water in with the cali doe and 7 bunnies today after reading on here that it is a good way to help them cool. Didn't take long for them to decide to cuddle up to it!!

What, no pool toys?!?

Lol!

Got me thinking though, would the rabbits actually use a bigger container to lay in do you think? More like a litter box size, filled a few inches with ice water?

Pool toys?

Miss M- oh my gosh, they will actually swim? Do they like it?
Rabbits don't generally like to swim, but they can do it. The rare rabbit will actually like it, if some owners are to be believed, who have said that their rabbits go into the pool on purpose, swim around, and get back out. :)

Many rabbits will do exactly what the bun above does... nothing but float and wait for you to take it back out.

But it was a funny pic!

If you have the room ,I would go ahead and give them one. As long the water isnt to deep for them. I think if the water is deep they wouldnt go in. But you never no.

They sure are cute little guys. Too bad you live so darned far away. I'd snatch up some of those reds like a duck would a june bug!!

This heat down here has been a "Killer". Hope this isn't a harbinger of the future. Your little guys have the right idea.

grumpy.

Lisa L. has rabbits that like to swim...she starts them young in a kiddie pool and they are soon hopping in by themselves!
