I thought I had this figured out, but now I feel like this is a trick question: how do you tell the difference between a red and an amber when they are harlequinized? I know that ambers have banding while reds have only red all the way down the fur. But I have a buck I thought was amber who has areas of his fur that does not have any banding.
Is it possible he is a red with a little banding in places from being harlequinized?
Or is he an amber that has no banding in places from being harlequinized?
Is it even possible for an amber to have no banding in places?
