Think I got a bad bale of hay....

Fed the buns some hay last night, this morning I go out and they don't look like they feel good. Some have soft poops and none of them are really eating much. They were fine before the hay, so I am thinking the hay is moldy or something? I gave them all fresh water with ACV and some kitchen oats, which they starting munching on immediately.

Does it have a smell to it, other than fresh hay? I know that sometimes farmers will spray a field with something to help it dry faster. Is this where you always buy your hay from, or someplace new?

I get it from a feed store not far from here. It looks good, and I have not smelled it but I will. It is Bahia hay, and this is the first time I have gotten that type. Last time I just got Coastal Grass hay.

If you can, I would get them the Coastal Grass hay that they are accustomed to. It does sound as though there might be something wrong with this bale of Bahia.

Yup, I am thinking it was the hay. This morning they are all doing much better, after having water and oats since yesterday morning. Must be something going on with that hay...I also tossed out all the left over food in their feeders, just in case.
