rsz_1rsz_img_20160408_133140344.jpgMy 2-year-old Giant Angora doe has a swollen vulva. She's never been bred. The problem first appeared six months ago, but I applied a topical antibiotic and it reduced down to where it wasn't really noticeable. Now it's popped back up again. So far, we've contacted a breeder friend who thought it might be a prolapse or tumor, and brought her to the vet who thought it was just an infection. He prescribed a topical antibiotic (much stronger than the one I'd initially used) and told us that it should be pretty much back to normal within a week. It's been a week and it's still rather swollen. I'm going to contact the vet again but what do you guys think about this?

I would try trimming back the fur while treating to make sure it's not a version of urine scald. Along those lines as well, I would wonder about the possibility of a urinary tract infection that is causing her to dribble. Maybe attempt to collect some urine if you are thinking to try going to the vet again?

Alright, thank you. Another person also suggested vent disease, so I'm going to try a course of pen G before calling the vet again.
