Well, my doe's vent got red and I put her in with the buck. They peed all over the place then he did his job about four times. They are both first timers and a couple of angles looked just odd to me, so I will wait a few hours and let him have another go at it. Her vent was damp when I picked her up to put her away, though, so it is on the calendar as a probable success! It's my first breeding so I am very excited. Now get to wait the long month, lol.
Just had to share,

I have one other doe ready to breed. I was going to breed her tomorrow to keep their times close. I can set her up with him tonight instead. I just want them to have the best chance to get pregnant. I wasn't sure if any of his would be blanks due to it being his first breeding. Or do they shoot viable sperm right off the bat? I had read of people saying 'old' sperm were less viable.

I presume you bred the other doe today. Hope all went well. I wouldn't think there'd be an issue. If I remember right, your buck is young - as long as the temps are reasonable, he should do just fine.

I've had times where I used the same buck two or three days in a row and all does had good litters. BUT, as always, it depends on the rabbit.

Let us know how yours did.

Yes he is young. He just turned six months a week or so ago. I was able to get two does bred. One only coupled once, then got very cranky and his in the corner growling. Calli got covered multiple times. I am crossing my fingers and looking forward to popples!
