So, I wanted some brokens...

I decided I wanted to add some brokens to my NZ lines. I bred my black doe Daphne to my...lionhead My plan is to keep a doe and breed her back to my NZ buck.

First time mom, she had nine last night/this morning.

Not sure what colors I have, but I see lots of brokens

It looks like you have blacks and either blues or lilacs.

If your buck is double maned, all of the kits will have a mane. If not, you will get normal and maned kits. Maybe you should keep back a maned doe and breed her back to the Lionhead- you might get lucky and get a doublemaned kit out of the litter. I know they are just for meat, but they would make a nice "mane course". :mrgreen:

I was hoping for one or two broken kits. I was elated to see seven

I like the breeding idea, and might just do that. The lionhead buck is double maned. Now to watch them fur out, and decide which I want.
