I am so excited. I am getting some standard rexes. It wouldnt be for 3 weeks from now. But they are coming from

quebec city. I am getting chocolate and blacks and brokens. I want them for meat and there pelts. I love there fur. Just had to share.

Yes it does. I just cant help myself. My husband just shakes his head. I will post pic when i get them. THey are coming from a awesome show breeder. 3 weeks is going to be a long wait, it is going to feel like forever.

Yes build a rabbit rug, your dog will love to pieces. Literally, my dogs will eat any fur I forget to keep locked up. Highly annoying since some of them I absolutely cannot get replacements for like my mink pelts :evil: the fur farm I got them from is now gone.

well, the lady backed out. I am so bumbed about it. Other rex breeders will not fly them or they are not the color that i want. So back to square one again. So i was thinking. Why dont i make my own. All i need is a new zealand doe and a mini rex and a few generations later.

I found the color that i wanted in the mini rex. The new zealand is not a problem. How long will it take to get the rex fur as it is a recessive gene. ? I think maybe 3. But i am concerned on the size. How long will that take to get them up to 8 pounds. ?

If you want to get some rabbits this is a good time of year to contact breeders who show because the ARBA convention is happening at the end of October in Wichita, KS. I contacted a breeder from Michigan who is going to the show and she is taking 2 LILAC Rex buck there for me. A judge from California [where I live] will also be attending the show and is transporting rabbits to & from the show. He will be bringing the rabbits back for me. I'm SO excited since I have not been able to find that color from anyone around here.

I know that. I dont know of anyone that is going . I am giving up trying to find some and just make my own. THey are out there and i did find some. Just not able to bring home.

If there is a Yahoo group for people in your general area who show you might try advertising for transport.That's how I got my transport, although it was the person who is offering the transport who advertised.
