Well my broken black doe is most assuredly a broken self steel. I bred her to my Broken Smoke Pearl buck and ended up with a beautiful Silver tipped smoke pearl steel! Wanted to share some pictures for those who have never seen one. When she was tiny her color was indistinguishable from her broken Smoke pearl brother. As her fur came in I noticed a color change and she almost looked greasy, upon closer examination I noticed a faint tipping on the hairs and realized I had a steel ( we get lots of Gold and silver tipped black and blue steels). She has an adorable face marking even if its not a full butterfly its more then her mom has, and she will be staying here for a very long time. Loving this little doe. She is four weeks old today.
