I just went out to check on three day over due Lilly and popples! This afternoon nothing not even fur pulled but her tummy was tight, so I left the box in and decided that she must be fat or having trouble with delivery. I was really hoping for fat. Good news she is fine and has 5 healthy popples. Lilly is one of my Blue Silver fox does and was bred to the Blue silver fox buck. When I looked and counted one is different coloring. It appears to be much less furred with brown highlights. There is another that also looks very light but it was hard to tell. The rest are the same as usual with silver blue gray fur.
I can't wait to see if I have a chocolate. Both doe and buck have chocolate in their pedigree. :clap2:

Yay!!! i CAN'T WAIT TO (DANG caps lock!)... see pictures. (Sheesh I'm a horrid typist- if you only knew...)

Pics of Mumsy and Daddy would be nice too! I love nestbox mysteries- once they get some more fur, be sure to post more pics.

Congrats on the babies! A chocolate would be exciting. They're so pretty!

I was talking to a Silver Fox breeder one time that told me it was really common for her does to go 5-7 days after 31 and have live babies. Maybe it's a breed thing?

pictures on their way. I have to get off work! Then its camera time :)

Well I had almost given up. Good to know that they are slow to kindle.

Boo hoo. No chocolate. I think the brown I saw last night must have been dried blood. There are two that are just a slight shade lighter than the other 3 but not enough to note as a lilac or chocolate. I am happy that she kindled because she was quite large but not with chocolates. I guess I need to put some brighter bulbs in the bunny barn. I am bummed. Pictures- Kits,Buck ,Doe

Oooh, pretty! Is there a preference for lighter or darker color? I notice your doe is a deeper grey. I love her "silvering"!

I am not sure. I am trying to steer towards body type and larger size. I do know that the buck I have is small and has too much silvering. He is lighter than the does I have. I have a black silver fox junior buck that is growing . I am hoping he will be bigger and I can breed him with the larger of the blue does. My concern is that this buck also seems small and has too much silvering . :wall:
I may be going on another road trip.

Just remember that two blues can't throw a chocolate even with the chocolate gene in their genotype. At best they would make a lilac kit!

I also didn't know that "too much" silvering was a fault!! Perhaps I am used to the extreme silvering of the Champagnes though! lol

Your doe has a very pretty face! Why don't more people talk about pretty faces in rabbits? I think I'm going to start a separate thread about that!
