Mary Ann, have followed your threads on your Champagnes. I have a great admiration for that fine Meat and Fur Rabbit. Your success with your Champagnes so far, my hats off to you. My experience with my first delivery has helped me decided to keep on with my Lion heads. I know about BOSS and oats to help pregnant does, but I'm not sure what Flax is? I want to make sure my breeding does get everything they need to stay strong because of my decision. Could you kind of explain about Flax and it's help for breeding does, or any kind of doe or buck? Truly appreciate the help in gaining a bit of knowledge about Flax.

Thanks,

Karen

Thanks Karen
You can get flax seed anywhere. It is very good for you and your rabbits. Omega 3 and 6..fats. They love it. YOu can get it at walmart., the grocery store. ect. I also give it to my chickens so i can have omega 3 eggs.
This might help

Thanks Mary Ann for the info. Will definitely have to look into this for my rabbitry. The fact that it helps with arthritis, which rabbits are prone to in the later years, especially larger breeds, it a must.

Again thanks so much for the help. Knew a little bit about the sunflowers, but nothing about the benefits of flax. My husband takes it but it's in a vitamin form.

You are welcome Karen...
I give it to all of my rabbits every morning. Just a pinch . I have 3week old babies that are eating it also. My chickens get it and my dogs get in there food too. I slip it in my meals when my husband dosnt know it is there. What he dosnt know will not hurt him. lol

When did you start your 3 week kits on Flax? My Lion Head kits are already nibbling on hay and Luna's pellets (2 weeks). Should I start now or wait a few days to start at 3 weeks?

Since my rabbits never had flax, would I start with less than a pinch and gradually increase, like any other new food?
