Hello, I’m looking into showing rabbits and getting Pedigree Silver Martens and was wondering what are the main things I need to know? Seems a tad complicated.
About me:
I’m 14, I have been raising rabbits for almost 2 years. I am not in 4h. I finally feel ready to start my showing journey.

Thank you.

Pedigrees usually record up to great grand parents or great great grandparents
They require the breed, color, ear number, and name of each rabbit on the pedigree
Some put the weights of the rabbits, but weight isn't usually a consistent thing so unless a pedigree already has it on there then I don't add it

if you want to register your rabbits, they need to have weights on them. Weights are taken when the rabbit is mature. For small breeds that's at six months. For larger breeds, look at the breed standard... when they seniors, take their weight. That is what you put on the pedigree. Sometimes people guess because they want to register their rabbits. so an average weight is used.
