ONe of my californian her first litter she only had one baby. Her second litter she only had one baby. I think i am wasting my time with her. Should i give her another chance or cull her?
Definately not good.....Don't know if she'd have a third chance with me or not. I've got a doe that's had 5 then 4 in two consecutive litters. She's slated to be moved out in the next couple of weeks.
Well it turns out i was wrong. I just checked on her. She had just the one baby yesturday so i thought not again. She was going for meat once the baby was wean. I looked to see if the baby was still alive as the temp really dropped last night. Here she had 9 mores babies. So she has a total of 10 babies. WOW. I guess i am keeping her around for a while . I wonder why they do that.
Congrats, 10 is a very good number. But yes typically I would cull (remove from herd) if they had only 1 or 2 each litter. You never know you could sell her to someone(tell them her history) and they breed her and get 6 or 8.
