Well, another 23 head went out the door last night. That's 58 head to the processor in a couple of weeks. Sales and acceptance have been good and steadily rising. Another 100-150 head weaned and growing w/their mamas already bred-back.

We project at the end of a year, we'll need 100 head per week. That's a lofty goal, but not one that's unreasonable. Both of us were wore out when he came to pick up the fryers. He was at the end of a 16-hour day. I'd been at it for close to 20 hours non-stop.

Went to bed at 1:00a.m. woke up at 3:30a.m.....couldn't sleep. Worked on my novel till the sun came up and began my day outside. Finished up and back in the house @10:30 last night. Went to bed @11:30. Slept like a dead-man till 5:30 this morning! 6-hours of sleep ain't bad for me!!

Whew, I can do that for a few days but then I crash. It makes all the difference if you are putting in long hours because you have to or if you want to and really enjoy it. Watch out for burn out though, I have been there.

You're wearing me out just reading, grumpy! Whew!

No rest for the wicked, Doc. :x LOL!

My family's on alert once again.
My treasured mother-in-law is
coming to the end of her life.
The boys and I went to the hospital
last night around 11:pm to say our good-byes.
My wife spent the night at the hospital

We got home about 2:30 this morning.
Of course.....I got my usual four hours
and have been up and at-'em since 6:30 this morning.
I hate to see that angel suffer like she is.
Gasping and fighting for each and every breath.
I continually pray her suffering will end soon.

She needs to take a break and rest
in the hands of the Almighty.
He's a cool-dude who'll take good care of Mom.
Just wish he'd call her home, so she can be in peace.

I don't know what today will bring.
Or even the next five-minutes.
Who knows when my cellphone will ring.
I expect it with each passing minute.

grumpy.

Bless you and your family, grumpy...it's an unutterably miserable thing to watch a loved one suffer and not be able to do anything to help. Been there more than once....each of you have my sincerest and heartfelt sympathy. It will be a mixed relief when the time comes...for everyone. For what it's worth, you have my thoughts and prayers headed your way....keep us informed, yes?

Hugs,
DDoc

I'm praying for her too Grumpy. Hope she goes home to heaven soon. [[HUGS]]
