Rabbits don't read the manual. :)

Oh, how nice if they did! :p

Hope the other starts pulling hair soon! I had a doe that did not pull hair until within 24 hours (usally less) of kindling.

The three does I've had kindle here have all only pulled hair about an hour before kindling. There's still hope!

Me too! Her first litter especially, she pulled fur when she kindled, as far as I could tell. The fur wasn't there, then it and popples suddenly were!

My does used to pull fur just before kindling. I knew I would have popples within hours.

Then they switched things up, and would pull a day or two in advance. Then switch back...

I was hoping that with good notes I would know each doe's sequence, but they apparently don't want to be predictable.

hair at 6pm has not equaled babies at 10:30 pm but she does have a nice little nest going unlike the one who is SUPPOSE to be kindling. I swear she is looking at the prepping rabbit like she is nuts.

__________ Tue Jan 15, 2013 12:35 am __________

Well there goes my well documented plans.....

No popples this morning. Her nest is now a litter box. her cage looks like a fight took place it is covered in so much hair. I am surprised she has any left.

__________ Tue Jan 15, 2013 10:51 am __________

Sad, isn't it?

But then again, who doesn't like a surprise? :p
I dont like surprises. I like tidy little rows that I can expect certain things out of. That is why I had children.

Empty the nest box, save what hair you can, and let her go at it again. Sometimes hormones kick up early, and leave the doe in a bit of a tizzy. Saving the hair will be useful regardless if she kindles or not. Just put the box in a different corner this time, lol!

Wow, I knew everybody thinks preppers are nuts, but I didn't know the sentiment extended to rabbits!!!

:rotfl:

We are only nuts until the worst happens. Then we have amazing powers of foresight. ;)

Can't say that I do :) I remember that discussion, and I was hoping it would come of something, but it looks like the rabbits got the best of us!

__________ Tue Jan 15, 2013 5:22 pm __________
