She loves the sun.... but....

Bianca follows the sun around her cage and lays in it like a cat, she loves it. I'm afraid her ears are getting a little sunburned. Do rabbits have problems with sunburned ears? Should I cover the cage so she can't burn her ears? I've known people here with white cats that had to have their ears and nose removed because of sun damage or cancer.

Yes, rabbits can get skin cancer from excessive sunburn. You can apply a non zinc (toxic if eaten) based sunscreen, one designed for dogs would be better, or keep her in the shade.

Since she loves the sun so much, I'd opt for the non zinc sunscreen.

or put something like burlap over her... that way she gets some sun, but not so much that she'll damage herself.

If they get real sunburn, add full shade or use sunscreen.
