my rex scratched her cornea, I think. Has a cloudy mass over half her left eye, and inner eyelid doesn't pull back. Very red eyelid, like cherry red. So, off to the vet we go....
told my husband over the phone, "so we're going to the Rabbit vet at 3"
"the rabid vet?"
"no, the rabbit vet."
"well, if you have to wait until 3, I wouldn't call him a rapid vet"
such a kidder my hubby......but he really is a sweet man.

He doesn't understand why I like the rabbits, really, but he humors my hobby. I finally got a "Business plan" together and totaled up the minimal-but-reasonable costs and sent him an e-mail couching it in terms of "all I want for my birthday"...and "this will get the rabbits out of our kitchen"....for better use of the same space I am now using for 4 rabbits on our back porch. I can fit 3-24X36, 3-24X48, and 5-24X30, with room for dropboard waste removal and automatic waterer. He hasn't said anything about the e-mail, but I know he read it, because he responded to the other issue. We'll see what happens. I also asked him to build the watering system, which appeals to his engineering soul.  this will free up the two mismatched cages I now use for quarantine....

time to re-vet...the third eye lid is also scratched and inflamed....the cornea was already healing prior to vet intervention, but the scratch on the inner lid was not apparent earlier....she wanted to check it on friday, and we'll make the long trip to the "reasonable" vet this morning....sigh.

the cloudy mass, was surface puss that came off with a squirt of salines solution and a wet Q-tip swab

scratched cornea has healed, but inner eyelid remains infected....swollen, possibly tearduct swollen shut....I don't know what more to do....

I did a quick search, and unfortunately with tearduct issues, all I read was, it's a vet visit. The ducts need to be flushed. I wonder if continued saline solution on the eye will help break up the blockage. Maybe a continuous flushing of the eye with saline solution could help.
