I keep a bag of dehydrated apple bits near my rabbits so I can treat them once in a while or to bribe does with kits to let me see in their nest...but these Angoras are snuggly little beggars! Once in a while I'd like to give them a fresh treat...but I figured I'd ask first. Are berries okay as a very rare treat? Specifically strawberries? What about bananas? Or if I had a bit of watermelon, would they be able to eat that?

Certainly Kyle I don't see anything bad mentioned in your post.
Everything in moderation, moderation is the key.
Rabbits will eat most anything so you have to be sure that it is a good thing
by picking and choosing when, what and how much of the good treats you
will allow them to have at any one sitting.
Ottersatin. :eek:ldtimer:

Agree with Ottersatin. Moderation. My rabbits love strawberries, apples and watermelon. Small portioned treats. I have one though who will turn his turn his nose up with watermelon. Don't know why, but that's how he is. Introduce slowly. Good fresh treats.

My buns like banana, fresh...I slice a 1/4" for each, dried cranberries or craisens are eagerly accepted. I also give a sprig of parsley or kale on an occasion. I also give once a week or so a "monkey biscuit" which is Mazuri's Primate crunch.

boards are talking about giving gineau pigs and chinchillas rose hips for the vit C - and as a treat that you can give every day. Has anyone tried giving them to rabbits, do the rabbits consider them a treat?

I've heard old fashion oats, black oils sunflower seeds. "fruit loops", bannanas, bread....

Air-dried whole grain bread is popular with my buns. Alice loves a piece of baked potato. The others like potato but are not smitten with it. Dandelion greens, clover (especially with blossoms) and other tasty weeds are as popular as anything else.
