Rex breeder near Niagara Falls?

Hello,
My husband and I are starting out with rabbits, and other than the lovely meat mutts from Zass, we have decided we want to raise standard Rex rabbits.
Are there any reputable breeders within a 2 hour drive from here that anyone knows about? Suggestions on where to find some decent foundation stock? (We're only looking for a pair or trio)
We won't be showing; we would be raising for meat and furs. We really like the otter and broken colorings, but do think the other colors are nice too!
Pros and cons? Anything we should be aware of before committing to this breed?

I recently discovered her on Facebook and messaged her. She didn't tell me of any other breeders near here, but did offer some rabbits herself. They were more than I could afford at the moment, but hopefully I'll be able to attend the ARBA show in Batavia NY this Sept. She'll be there, so I'm hoping to get a look at her rabbits, (and possibly some other breeders') and make a better purchasing decision then. I should be in a better financial position in the fall, and therefore be able to purchase them...
I'm so paranoid about scaring her off though....since I seem to have done that with the last breeder I contacted.

She's pretty hard to scare off.


I know of two Rex breeders in Canada, one I am sure is in Ontario. One is here on Rabbittalk, the other I know from Facebook. There is a Rex rabbit group there that can help.

Something to work towards-- I'll have to save my pennies for a really great buck!

((We have a local lady helping my daughter find a brood doe Hlop and she said she'd look for a 'stunning' doe at a show this weekend... I had to ask her to downgrade from stunning to 'very nice' as we don't have a stunning caliber budget LOL))
