So I was halfway expecting something like this. Two shows in two weekends, someone has to have something happen!

This is Nero's eye. Today I noticed his eye was very watery and the lids were swollen. He is scratching at the eye like it is itchy. The other eye does seem a little irritated, but not like his left eye. There is wetness around the eye from the tearing. He doesn't seem lethargic or "sick" (rabbits are great hiders, I know). He was not like this yesterday, the first day back from the show.

He was in with his brother Enderman, who is showing no signs of this at all, but they've been separated and Nero is in quarantine away from everyone. I am going to start Nero and Ender on plantain, dandelion, and oregano like I read in another post.

Should I disinfect the cage they were in, because if Ender is coming down with ???, it'd be moot, right?
How should I disinfect the shared cage they were in?
What is the tell for pasturella at this stage?
How long is pasturella's incubation? Meaning, is this an eye irritation gained or a disease?
What should I be looking for next--the sneezy snot?
How can I help soothe Nero's eyes?

Advice?

I added some marigold flowers to their diet since I know a marigold wash can help eyes. I figured on the quick putting them on the inside would help too.

Rather try lemonbalm and echinacea for boosting immune system. I`d like to say that it worked for us but it didn˙t :( There is really no cure for P.

.......is it just me or does that eye look pretty normal? Could have just had a bit of debris fall in it.
Try Echinacea in the water (if you have the capsules you can open one up to mix in the water) and a honey/chamomile tea works too if it's just an infection, or irritation. Make the tea, let it cool so that it is warm, (or add cold water to speed up the process) and add about a tablespoon of honey. Dip a paper towel or rag in the solution and wipe it on his eye. You can put a couple drops in his eye as well.

I'd like to reportthat I overreacted and the next day Nero's eye was normal! Thank you for all the suggestions that I put into play!!

-- Sun Oct 11, 2015 7:05 pm --

I'd like to reportthat I overreacted and the next day Nero's eye was normal!
