rabbit show vocabulary

I've had rabbits for a few years, but haven't gotten into showing rabbits. I have a couple of questions: what are sanctions, and how do they work? And, what is a double show?

double show simply means two shows on the same day. You can also get triple shows. One judge does their own show. Sanctions are done through the breed club and if you are a member of that club you earn points.

Ladysown, what does that mean---"through the breed club". Does the club announce it, do they pay for it? Why doesn't a show just award points to a person if they show there?

I'm assuming that a double show, then, lets a participant earn more points. How are the points used?
