One of my buns is sick I think she has the scours. Her rear is matted and there is some white looking material in the cage. The same white gunk is on her rear. I noticed this last night and put some terramycin in her water and used a syringe to give her some water. I also gave her some applesauce. Tonight she seemed to take the applesauce better. Any ideas what she might have? and how to cure it. She is due to have kits Sunday.

She sounds like she might have a uterine infection. They are usually caused by Pasteurella.

Is the "white stuff" really thick and sticky?

Other than the white gook she does not have any other symptoms. I noticed her not eating. tonight she seemed more active when I force fed her.

Whatever it is, it does not sound good. :(

I would moverher as far away from your other rabbits as possible in case it is Pasteurella. Also, clean up her hindquarters as well so you can hopefully determine where the discharge is coming from.

Is it possible for you to get a picture of the pus for us to look at?

Scours is a term usually used for large livestock when young animals get diarrhea.

I went out to take pictures and the rabbit was having a bowel movement and the pellets were solid and black. I started the regiment on her last night by putting antibiotics in her water and giving it to her in a syringe, also gave her applesauce along with her pellets, oats, and hay. About the only thing I can think of that might have made her sick was maybe some of the hay I gave her had some noxious weeds in it that made her sick. She showed no other signs other than quit eating. She is now moving around a bit more than last night. I added some blackberry leaves to her cage also. We will see how she is in the morning. By the way I had 2 rabbits that had babies last night. Snow had 3 and Chaos had 8.

Thank You all for the help and tips.
