my rabbit made a nest and had 8 babies outside of her nest box.should i move them in to the nest box or just leave them be? thanks

Move them into the box along with the nest if she made that outside of the box too, but make sure they are warm first. One way to do that is to wrap them in a towel fresh from the dryer.

I always put cold kits under my shirt.. sounds strange, I know. I find a lot of body heat works well and you can get them to warmth a bit faster than you could if you had to prepare it.

You'll want to put them in the box so they don't end up roaming away from each other.

I keep them in my shirt until I get another heat source prepared too! Usually it is kittens I'm dealing with though- thankfully my does have always had their kits in the nest, with the exception of my very first litter.

I carry them in my shirt until the dryer is hot. I toss in 2 towels and turn it on high heat. Once it's warm, 5min or so, I put the babies on top of the 1st towel, cover them by the 2nd towel and close the dryer door. Wait about 8min and then move them back into the nest. Yes, I make sure they dryer is off and no one uses it. =D

Good idea! I would do that as well but I think I would be too paranoid that the towel is too hot for them. I wouldn't want to cook 'em. My does are good for that as well, I think I only had to warm a couple kits, and those were ones that just weren't thriving that I tried to save.
