My daughter has two lionheads. The gray has always been smaller than the REW. They are housed together.

Daughter reports observing her eating within the last 24 hours and drinking within the last 12.

No symptoms in the REW. Gray has been losing weight rapidly. Now she is catatonic. She doesn't respond to sound, movement or pain (I pinched her and gently tugged her tail). She usually flails when scruffed, but didn't this time.

She won't open her jaw or swallow when I syringe in liquids. One tooth is chipped, but they aren't too long.

I felt her stomach for a blockage. Nothing there.

Any ideas? Considering her non-responsiveness I'm thinking stroke or massive seizure. I can't give her oral meds even if it was't. Help??

I wish I could think of something that would help. Keep her warm and hope she comes out of it enough to take some syringed liquids or meds if you know what might help. Sorry you and your daughter are going through this. :(

She's expiring as we speak.

I'm almost certain this is neurological.

My DD wasn't entirely truthful on the course of events. It's been going on for several days and just got very bad today.

When moved, the rabbit stiffens, jerks and then stops breathing for several seconds. She will then resume breathing rapidly, twitch a few minutes later, stop breathing, repeat ad nauseum.

She passed.

Daughter is disinfecting the cage and crocks. Bedding is going straight on the fire. I'm trying to decide what to give the other doe in case it was anything communicable.

Awww I'm so sorry for you and your DD's loss. Bless both of your hearts. [[HUGS]] :(

I'm sorry for all of you: you, daughter, passed-away bunny, and surviving cagemate. :(

Don't know how old daughter is, but perhaps she can learn to be a quicker reporter of "something strange going on with rabbit"? That may be *some* good to come out of this sad situation.

How painful all around.
