I'm excited!!

I palpitated my buck (as was suggested in an another post) to get the feel of what living rabbit innards feel like and then I palpitated my 'probably' pregnant doe, and I'm pretty sure I felt at least one baby!! Plus Lexi is 'fuller' than usual and is eating like a horse!!! (She's not been a chowhound in the 10 months we've had her.) I gave her a nest box today so she can 'practice' this week--Thursday will be day 28. I bought a parsley plant at Walmart the other day and it's now sitting on my table with the primroses. I've started giving her a few leaves here and there.

ArticWolfLady and I have our bets placed... she says 6 popples and I say 8. Who knows?? Guess we'll find out by this next weekend!

I know what you mean my girls hate it too. I watched several videos..one by a vet.
I am still no good and I get the dirty looks and feel like I have done the most offensive thing possible to them.
Last time I couldn't feel a thing and she had 7. So I don't try anymore.

I gave up on trying to feel little ones after our first two does litters. I felt nothing for either of them.

Looking forward to hearing the news of how many she has!

This morning while Lexi was having some outside time, I noticed how she moved differently, like she's bound up in the back (being pregnant would do that). She's a lot more careful with herself! The buck was in a cage on the lawn at the same time, and she only came over to greet him, but didn't stick around like she was interested in anything else!! Made me laugh so hard because Trooper was trying to impress her and she could have cared less!

Lexi snuck into the garage and when she found Fiona in her cage, talk about not happy!!! Good thing there was wire between the two and I was nearby to scoot Lexi out of the garage!! Definitely territorial!!

The nest box has a very nice deep tunnel in the hay to the back and bottom. I think today is the last day I'll let Lexi out for yard time until she kindles (hopefully by Saturday).

I post some stuff about the rabbits on my FB page and all my coworkers (mostly men) have been asking me so many questions about rabbits and their habits!! Thanks to everyone here, I can give them all the right information!!

-- Wed Jan 21, 2015 11:36 am --

Day 27 -- No popples. Have been feeding fresh parsley the last two days. She's made a very nice nest in her nestbox and enjoys sleeping in her litter pan. She looks comfy during her snoozing.

How much parsley are you supposed to give a rabbit?

Rabbit gestation is 28-35 days. With 31 being the average...You have a couple more days :D .I only give a few sprigs. You don't want her to get diarrhea, if she is not used to greens, increase gradually.
I have seen pictures of your bun she looks like a big girl like mine.
I don't know if this is true for everybunny but my girls get really big poops..I was afraid that it was mega colon..even did some research ,then noticed all my girls did with every birth... :x Stays that way until weaning.Seems to go along with milk production. :?
If you haven't already go ahead and free feed her she will need the extra calories and protein.Good luck with the new little ones ..it never gets less exciting ..at least not for me. :D

A day before she has them she will probably stop, or greatly reduce, eating her feed. It's a normal thing.

You might also want to get some B.O.S.S. and give her a table spoon or even two (my French Lops get 2) a day to boost her protein. Like Katiebear was saying, she can use a little extra help once the kit feeding begins.

Thanks everyone! I've been reading the Care and Kindling forum this morning and afternoon looking for last words of advice.

Lexi is free fed and gets BOSS with her pellets so we're good there. Since she's a yard rabbit, she's got an iron stomach when it comes to eating new veggies. That being said, I've only been giving her a few sprigs off the parsley plant yesterday and today.

I just came to the realization that I don't have baby saver on Lexi's hutch!!! I have it on the new cage but not her hutch!! :x

The picture below was her yesterday, sneaking into the garage (where she's not allowed) and thought I wasn't paying attention. Guess I have to stop researching and go put babysaver on her hutch!!

Ah, those brokens.... you see one, you see them all! LOL I have to say your Murphy is a very fine looking fellow since he looks so much like Lexi! I love her broken pattern from above--it looks like a goose in flight!

Day 28, 2:32pm and no babies yet.

LOL everyone!!!

Day 29 at 9:50am and she's looking cool as a cucumber. Sunday would be terrible... I have to go back to work Sunday night! (so that's probably when she'll kindle)

---

Earlier this eve the husby was looking out the window and watching Lexi sleep and said, "Wow, she looks uncomfortable!" That's a pretty good sign if he notices!!

-- Sat Jan 24, 2015 10:23 am --

SHE'S KINDLING!!!!!

I gave her parsley and a Tums (snarfed that right up) and she's filling out her nest with fur and straw and OMG OMG I'm a rabbit grandma!!! pictures to come later!!!
