I found a breeder a couple of hours away and tomorrow I am picking up two New Zealands. I am not sure what kind yet. I told him to pick out the very best for me. If I can't make it this weekend then it will be a while as next weekend he is off to a show in Reno. I will be getting some about7 months or so old so will not have to wait long for breeding. I got the two cages ready. The bad news is my van won't pass smog so I am non opting it till I can afford to fix it so I do not have a car. My ex has loaned me his pickup for tomorrow. I still need to make two more cages. One for backup and one for my daughters Californian doe she will be getting soon. Rabbitosis is so much fun. ;) He also has a Siamese satin but I keep telling myself no.

Satins are sooo nice, unlike the minis, if I had more cages.....but since the Harlies are going to take up a lot of room, no Satins for me

went today to pick up 2 Rabbits and came home with four. How could I say no. I got two White New Zealand does, One Siamese satin doe and a broken blue satin buck. My 17 year old daughter went with me and was telling me to go ahead and get the Siamese. I told her no as we do not have a satin buck. The Breeder piped up and said "I will give you a buck". How could I say no to that. He let her pick out a nice buck who as it turns out is very sweet and friendly. He also gave us a four hole cage and a two hole cage. The four cage is quite rusty so will take some work to fix up but it will be worth it. He has a big stack of older cages and told us we could take any we want. I plan on going back later for more. He was very nice and I plan on keeping his number handy if I run into problems. He sells rabbit meat out of his home direct to the public. I asked him about it. He told me he called and talked to the people in the capital(can't think now of who) and was told as long as he sold direct to consumer it was OK. I am going to look into this and get a written law on it and do the same. Just want it in writing so if I get hassled any. Picked up more wire door springs and food for the rabbits and now I am broke but happy.

Demamma,
you are going to be SO happy with the Satins! Satins ARE the BEST!!
Of course I may be just a tiny bit BIASED in the Satins favor?
Ottersatin. :eek:ldtimer:

Congratulations on your NZ's and Satins. Also, on the cages too.

What a way to be broke, but happy.
