I am just wondering if you can breed father bunny, to daughter bunny, without any problems resulting, or are the genes too close?

My Lops are my indoor companion pets.

If pet or show breeders with experience, could give their opinion on this please?

Provided neither has a health problem that could be magnified by combining them it is frequently done. I've crossed back to a very good quality foundation buck 2 or 3 times on the same pedigree. The only not suggested breeding is full siblings but even then it's sometimes done if you have limited gene pool and produce 2 spectacular rabbits.

You can breed the two, just make sure they really compliment each other nicely! It's a great way to "set" genes. (good and bad)

Example: if they are both on the weaker/finer boned side, I wouldn't breed them together, because you might get very poor bone, but intensified and you might start an issue with sore hocks and such.

And when I say intensified, I tested a breeding back to their dad that has a bit of a tighter crown, and then I got the worst ear control/folded I've ever seen and I ended up petting or culling them out. Sometimes it's a matter of testing, but sometimes it will take you back to the drawing board. I'll be doing some more line breeding now, but I'm finding it requires a large selection, because you need to be able to cross back complimentary offspring.
