So I have 3 rabbits due (2 of them are first timers) January 4th, of course you can just guess what the weather is going to be like :x Yup 4-8 inches of snow starting today, and now they are saying Thursday night is going to be 5 below  So of course my one doe has decided to start pulling fur now! I put in the nestboxes stuffed them with hay and now hoping for the best. I can always bring the boxes in overnight and put them back in during the day, and I should have enough kits (hopefully) that I can do some rearranging if needed.

Lol my does have been doing those kinds of thing all winter! They pick the coldest nights (although we aren't as cold as you and no snow) , but they pick coldest nights. For the first few days I just bring the nesting box in and only take it out when I'm out feeding in the morning and once again at night for a few minutes. I have barely any juniors because they weren't taking in the fall, so I'm playing catch up. I can't afford losses since I think I only have 1 keeper for spring lol and my litters have been small (usually no more than 4) so they are growing quickly/furring out that I can eventually leave them out.

Goodluck with the upcoming popples!:)

I have had quite the draught myself! These will be the first litters since late summer. I bred 3 litters, 2 lionhead and 1 NZR just because the NZ and 1 LH are first time moms, I am hoping between the 3 of them (if they all take) I should have no problems keeping them warm and fed.

5 below is unusual for us the snow is normal, and I don't mind, but these cold temps  not what I wanted! I am going to have to go through and make sure all tarps are good and stuff some extra hay/straw in with the rabbits and chickens today. I also should go pick up some more BOSS before the roads get too bad.
