I will have to check it out... I am still about 99% newbie :?

I was talking to DH about it last night with our Cali - and wondered why in the world they would name it such a "cute" name? I mean, nothing about the word "snuffles" sounds at all scary or troublesome!

That is a really interesting article! And very informative when it comes to what to do and how to do it. I really want to breed toward herd hardiness (kind of like what my ideal chicken flock will one day be). I don't want to bounce around with medications - I mean, it doesn't work well for humans (hello, antibiotic resistance), why would it be any different for animals? And, again like humans, I can see how some exposure helps in the long run. It's a tough practice to follow, knowing good and well there will be a number of culled animals, but in the long run it appears it's well worth the effort.

Yep, both are great articles.

I relied on both heavily when I had pasteurella here.

My decision eventually was to wipe out my herd and start over.

Had I been quicker to cull the sneezing animals...I may have been able to save more of my stock.
