Obviously I know enough not to use treated lumber when building our hutch which we are not except for the support legs into the ground....But is there anything wrong with painting the OUTSIDE of the hutch to help the wood last longer and to just look pretty? .....I am going to try attaching a photo of our progress so far...Ok that didn't work as it is too big.
grrr wish I wasn't so technologically challenged at times.

I don't see any problem with using a latex exterior paint on those parts that the rabbit(s) can't chew on.

It'll look nice and will probably be easier to clean / hose off.

"Before" and "After" pictures will be fine, thanks.

I don't see issues with painting the outside. My buns are serious chewers however so I will more then likely end up painting with a lime style whitewash instead of commercially available paint. If your buns are not chewers then commercial paint should be good.

Let's see...we have cages in pink, green, blue, yellow, orange, and red...so far. Purple is next, I think.

All were spray painted with a good quality spray paint. Since I like a rainbow of pretty colors, it is much easier to keep a can of spray paint for touch-ups than paint cans.

Thanks everyone! Didn't want to make a stupid mistake that would be impossible to undo....
Marinea...You have an Easter Bunny Farm! How awesome is that LOL
