Opinions on kit colors?

I know these kits are only a few days old, but I am curious as to what you all might think their color might be. The first one I have no idea, never had one that color, could be a very smutty red. The second one maybe looks like a chocolate to me. What do you think?

tort? and Chocolate I think. Though the tort could be something else, doesn't look quite right to me...

I have no idea about colors, but every time someone says "smutty" my brain always reads "slutty" and I have to re-read the sentence! They look adorable to me, and not at all "smutty"!

Tort came to mind but it looks more agouti. Is the belly all white/cream? What are the parents? From what can be seen in the pictures at this age the 2nd one looks plain self chocolate.

This was actually from one of my experimental breedings that I did to see if I could get copper and also what my chinchilla buck might be hiding since the pedigree that came with him was pretty "iffy". I got two beautiful coppers from another litter, but this litter is definitely different. I got these two kits and a red. The doe is a red that goes back all red for at least 3 generations. (Thats why I wonder if the first kit is red also, but the points are blue and the blue runs over the belly and kinda up the back).

One looks like a fox, tort otter, other looks some thing like a chocolate chestnut. Ears don't look colored on the inside to me, so it makes it look like agouti (plus the tannish looking color on the back of the neck), or it might just be my monitor LOL.

The top one could be a smutty orange- but you saying it has blue points would lead me to believe it is a blue tort. The bottom kit looks chocolate, or possibly chocolate tort, could even be chocolate agouti- since you used a chin buck. Do you have any more recent pictures of them, and maybe from underneath. I used to love looking in the nest boxes and trying to figure out who was what colour. When I had ND's I bred all colours together, and loved to experiment!!!

The chocolate kit is definitely chocolate. I looked at her today and she is definitely all one color, belly, ears and everything else. I'm thinking the other one is either a blue or chocolate tort. In this picture he looks a little more chocolate, but he really looks more blue than in the picture. Can't wait to find out for sure when the fur grows in a little better.

Yes, that one definitely looks like a tort. I love how torts look as babies that size, the markings are just perfect Are they an accepted colour in your breed(sorry not sure what breed it is!!)

I really like the torts too. It was a surprise, but a really nice one. I raise mini satins and they are working on torts to get them as an accepted variety, hopefully next year. I might just have to keep him and start working on torts too!
