I think she is preggers, and really hoping so. This will be both her first litter and mine. Counting down the days! :D

wow...quite the chub. :p Haha, I wouldn't doubt it! Lol. :D Congrats! How many days left?
I'm sad...I'm not sure if my doe is prego or not..... tomorrow is her due date...but I palpated...(I'm not an experienced palpater) and I don't think she is. :eek:verreaction: Pray she will be! (If it is Gods will of course...)

Lol, that is why I think she took. I have not tried palpating as I am somewhat nervous that I might damage the popples. So taking the wait and see approach. She has grown substantially around the middle, though, and has become sweet as can be ever since she was covered. If she has a. good size litter I want to keep one of her does to try to get her same temperament! My other doe has developed a rotten temperament and has decided to try to aggressively bite and scratch at me. She may be pregnant, but if so, she will go to freezer camp with her kits when they get big enough!
Good luck, and hope your doe is pregnant!

That looks like a belly full of popples to me! I'm pretty sure you will have a nest full of fur and wiggly kits in a few days. :D

At this stage, the babies will feel like, well, babies... large, solid, masses where you can feel their actual bodies. You would have to squish them pretty forcefully to hurt them at any stage, but at the later stages they are not surrounded by very much amniotic fluid at all, so are less protected.

The thread below has photos (graphic!) of a doe that was about half way through her pregnancy when she broke her back. To make a tragedy into a learning experience, the doe was necropsied and pictures taken of the developing fetuses. I think you will be surprised by how well protected they are in the amniotic sacs.

I am hoping she is full of them! She has made a nice burrow in her nest box, but no fur pulling yet. I stuck it in on day 25 instead of 27, though, so she has time. She isn't making it messy at all and is moving her hay around so all is well.
Thanks for the link. I had taken a peek at it before, but is an interesting sight for sure.

Yes, very unfortunate that they lost their doe, but a good learning opportunity for us with those pictures!

-- Thu Oct 23, 2014 6:55 pm --

She has built herself a nice tunnel to the back of the nest box and is keeping it nice and clean. Hoping this is a good sign that she will be a good mama!

Oooh! I love the tunnel style nests! :p I can't remember ever having a doe that built a really spectacular nest ever not being a good mom, so I take it as a good sign too!

Can't wait to hear what you get!

Morning of day 31 and no babies yet. However I felt along her belly last night, pretty lightly. I wasn't feeling baby bumps, but also wasn't feeling very much up in there. Then it felt like something moved and rolled across my palm. I think it was a popples, so I'm hoping it is just a late litter and crossing my fingers! Waiting impatiently...lol.
