Buddy is a Florida White and had a big New Zealand doe in the next cage. Today is day 29 for the doe so I moved her into a bigger cage but when I went to move her I noticed him with his mouth full of hay!

He is the cutest thing!

Is it normal for a buck to do the haystash thing?

I KNOW your answer is going to be "Yes", but I just have to ask: are you SURE it's a buck??

...hmmm, maybe they bonded so much when they were next to each other that your buck has developed sympathetic pregnancy!

A couple of days ago my Belgian Hare buck started to make a nest in his night time cage. (He is out in the garden during the day). I took a picture of it. Does he know one of the does is pregnant? Previously, he dug a warren for his honey.

Thank you Zass (hey, we don't have a smily for blushing). Those are honestly just "quick, get the camera" snapshots, because I couldn't believe he was doing this.

 I KNEW someone was going to ask that!

And yep, he is such a little boy and there are yellow pee splashes all over to prove it!

Waaaaaaay back when my first buck and doe lived in the chicken pen digging burrows willy nilly, both of them use to collect nesting material. Perhaps its a sign of an extra loving buck?

Now thats a supporting hubby bunny!!!! Too adorable...!!!

__________ Thu Nov 06, 2014 1:23 pm __________

Or maybe he is getting the "Bachelor Pad" ready!!!!! :p :p :p :p :p

Very cute!

Never had a buck haystach, but i did get an odd first time gender role swap today trying to breed my champ pair. The doe finally decided to show him how it's done since he can be so mellow when trying to breed, and at the end of her display SHE squealed and fell off!

Did get the point across though, if you get my meaning! ;)

Sigh... If only the human "bucks" could be so thoughtful. Haystaches are adorable when ever I see them, but a buck's haystache is just dreamy.
