One week to go! She's been scratching around in her box and tossing her hay, but no real nesting yet...
I think I'll be on 'round the clock rabblet watch starting Thursday. I haven't had kits in a few months now, and it's her first litter, and I REALLY want to find babies cozy in a nestbox full of fluff.
I believe her genetics are aa B_ Ccchl D_ E_, but she could be aa Bb Cc Dd Ee.
The buck she was bred to is aa bb C_ Dd E_, but could be aa bb Cc Dd Ee.
This is based on what I know from their pedigrees and what their sire has thrown.

The color I'm hoping for the most is chocolate sable point, but that might take a bit more to bring out. I'd be pretty happy if any sable was brought out...though there's the chance she's actually Cc. I'd be alright with a REW...but sable would just be the best.
On her mother's side, they're all sable except for a couple great-grandparents (REW and pointed white)

guhhh I'm so eager for babies. I want them NOW!

The wait for babies is a killer! Even though our doe kindled today, yesterday I was certain she wasn't pregnant!! If it hadn't been for the 'constipated' look of when she was hopping around I would have swore she wasn't pregnant yesterday!! If you notice that your doe's center of gravity has changed and moves differently in the rear, I'd say it's all a waiting game!!

Good luck!!

Her belly is feeling round and firm, and I'd felt grapes when I'd palpated her on her 14th. :D So she oughtta be pregnant!

Yes, Nyctra, that sounds like pregnant. The wait is totally worth it though once you get your popples.
Mine arrived today, and it was amazing that Lexi totally fooled us like that!
So, good luck, and congrats! <3

Waiting is so hard. The last few weeks while our litters have been rolling in, sleep is precious little. We wake every few hours to check on any expecting moms. But they are so worth it. I hope she kindles soon and easily for a first time mom. :)

Is she French Angora?

French, yeah.
Good thing she likes all the attention! LOL

I never really know when the litters will arrive in the colony. One morning I'm doing chores and voila! There's a nestbox full of fur and popples! I kind of like not knowing, it really relieves the stress of waiting. lol

I caved and cut down a haphazardly hung kindle cage to put it back in the wood hutch. I can see her better in this cage than where she was...and can see if there's any uh-oh kits on the wire. I used to catch does kindling by chance about 7 out of 10 times, so maybe I'll get lucky again and catch her if she wire kindles...
No nesting yet, but I felt definite babies in her belly. Come on, girl! D:

I'm waiting too. My Cali doe is due to kindle Friday or Saturday. It will be her first litter and my first litter since getting rabbits again. I put a nest box in with her yesterday afternoon.

HNNNG. Nothing yet.
I'm guessing tonight or tomorrow morning...or tomorrow night. :?

Make a quick trip to get some milk or bread that should pop that mother!

__________ Thu Jan 29, 2015 2:44 pm __________

Make a quick trip to get some milk or bread that should pop that mother!

ATTA GIRL! About dang time she starts nesting! :p

I don't think she quite gets nestbox =/= litterbox just yet, but I'll clean it up yet again later.

WOO! My guess was no more than 5...she kindled 4. :D I've been on bunny watch for days, just catching a few winks here and there...too paranoid to be out of it for too long...

There's three somethings and a something else....blacks and a lilac, I'm thinking. I've got no idea what to look for if they were sabled. :? If the light one IS lilac, I hope it's a buck. :D

Elvira wasn't content with how much fur she'd pulled, so I've moved the kits to a makeshift nest in a bucket until she's done had her fun with the kitless nest.
I've had an issue with my wooden nests getting moldy despite cleaning between uses, so they were scrapped and I plan to get a metal nestbox sometime soon. All the nesting material will need to be replaced 'cause it's soggy from Elvira pottying in it a couple times - and soggy hay here molds within a day or two.. :x

It also has a faint...well...purplish tint to its fur. A pretty little thing. :in_love:
