I keep seeing this when I look at breed information on rabbits. (So and such) 'Of the Fancy'.

What on earth does that mean? Seems bizarre.

fancy: verb To have a liking or enthusiasm for

"Syberchick fancies Mini Lops."

This term was coined prior to the discovery (and admission thereof) of the various diseases associated with rabbit keeping; Rabbitosis, Raging Rabbitosis, Rabbitosis Acquireosis, et al.

Though antiquated, the term is still used today for two primary reasons. :explanation:

1. It lends an air of respectability to those of us suffering from the various "tosis" associated with rabbit hoarding keeping and it is now politically incorrect to refer to the mental disorders of groups of crazy people enthusiasts.

2. It rolls off the tongue better than say "Rex-the King of Rabbitosis"

Hope that clears things up for you. ;)

I figured it was something like that... just wasn't sure if it was like... "I fancy you" or "Gee, that's a fancy rabbit cage, you're keeping chickens in".

It does. Do people actually go around using the terms, like "This is my Rex - King of the Fancy!" or whatever? Because it seems a little...

Like, maybe we shouldn't advertise our contagious diseases quite so... openly... :ninja: :hiding:

Oh-ho! Like that, is it?

Don't forget that I had a unique opportunity to mold Galadriel and Bunny-Wan to my will whilst incarcerated with them in Miss M's rabbit tractor. I mean chicken tractor. No- um, her "greenhouse".

I fancy sending one of my little brain washed minions over to give you a smack aft-head.

Oooo, you might want to do that. Between MSD and her minions, she is of the fancy to aft-smack you!

This might be worth keeping two eyes on:

__________ Tue Apr 14, 2015 3:05 pm __________

...or is it, the rabbit cage/chicken tractor/minion-MSD prison is of the fancy variety?

Now I'm confused again.
