Having just lost a sale due to my blues not being the same size as the red eyed whites, I got to wondering if they are SUPPOSED to be the same size?

The difference isnt huge but it is a few pounds worth.

No.

They are not a recognized colour but I know the reds and broken are smaller just because they are not dedicated to commercial meat production and other breeds were used to introduce the color who do not grow out as quickly.

I think the blacks are up to the white size but they have been recognized longer. I' m sure eventually they will be up there but I doubt anything will compare to the commercial whites for growth rate and feed conversion.

A few pounds in one rabbit is huge, even one pound in a rabbit can be huge. I'd take the bigger rabbits over the smaller any day, unless the color ones were somehow extra special to me.

They should be, aren't because no one is really forcing them up there fast enough.

That should give you something to work towards. The only difference should literally be color if its all the same breed. But if blindfolded you shouldn't be able to tell the difference between red, black, broken or REW.
