I have a doe and buck that have always breed and they have never had any problems together. Last week I put her in and they would have absolutly nothing to do with each other. Well my husband decided he would put her in again the other day and nothing. Does anyone no whats going on? Do you think my buck is sick? He acts normal except not wanting to cover his doe. They are outside so the temp changes all the time. We have had some pretty cold weather. Would this effect him?

Sometimes rabbits just don't breed like rabbits. They aren't in the mood. It could be weather, light, nutrients, or they just aren't in the mood. I'd give it a month to two. After that I'd start trying some different things. I've got three does that have been bred before, but it's been 6 mos and they don't even change color. Considering the weather and the current season, i'm not going to give them any strikes until late spring.

Tjhe longer you keep them from breeding,
the harder it is to get them started again.
I would try to keep your Rabbits working.
When they are not, they tend to develop
fat where they should not.
Ottersatin. :eek:ldtimer:

Put the doe in with the buck every day. Sooner or later, she will get bred. Make notes of the first day you put them together. Have a nest box in with her to match the first possible breeding date.
You have to be more stubborn than the rabbits are.

When I have a stubborn pairing, I try to breed as late in the evening as possible. They may say no 3 days in a row in the morning or afternoon, but late evening they say YES.

This is useful! Now that I think about it, my rabbits always seem to be most active in the evenings.

You do have to be more stubborn than the does. I had a doe in off and on for 4 mos and still no babies. In this case, it's not the sooner, but the later. I tired breeding her right after she lost her litter, then every other day for a month, then I just left her in with the buck. She is not fat, but I'm starting to think she's infertile.
