not black, what is it?

Pictured side by side with a black kit about the same age. This kit is NOT black, but I can't figure out what she is. Too young to go through a moult and she's been this colour since birth (so I've been told). She is a return from breeding kit.

in the background
mom's side: blue otter, opal and black silver marten
Dad's side: harlequin, mostly tricolour and black, with a tad bit of tort and chinchilla (yes I know a real mixed bag)
 
another rabbit board is thinking perhaps broken seal. it's like sable on sable. Blame the chin gene in the background.

I always blame the chin gene :) It does some wicked things to rabbit colors.
