What a surprise in the nest box. I HATE surprises. The Mini Lops are my sisters project but as usual I get dragged into it.

HISTORY
This is the third litter from this pairing.
First litter had a nicely marked harlequin and a nicely marked tri colour.
Second litter had two poor, brindle like harlequins and a nicely marked tri-colour

This litter has
3 harlequins, looks like they will be nicely marked
1 nicely maked tri colour
and 3 what the heck happened !!!!

The tri-colour looks dilute, so I am guessing its a blue or lilac fawn tri-colour that lacks definiton
The self looks like it might be a tort of some sort, and I have read that torts have been used in Harlequins to improve type
The white nosed black thingy is I don't know what.

Any ideas or suggestions on any of these kits?

Boy, that is the most adorable popple I think I have ever seen!

I want one! Or two. Or twenty...

I agree! Those are adorable!
How nice that your sister can drag you into her projects! My sis won't go anywhere near the rabbits! And she thinks popples look like ugly little pigs. Funny, cause she used have a rabbit and I hated it. :?

That solid kit is a tort it just got two ee genes and missed out on the j part.. it also missed out on the agouti and got two selfs (aa). Tort is a colour though and not a breed or type of rabbit so it is not able to "improve type" in harlequins. In fact you don't want those self genes at all in Harlequin. They are technically agouti. Tort can also coexist with tri which is what you don't want either. Much like tort and otter. That paler tri may be dilute, hard to tell from my screen or it may be some sort of shaded because the buck being magpie has chinchilla. OR a broken tort.lol he just needs to grow a bit more fur. The black looks like some misguided magpie who maybe didn't get enough mods to stop the black from covering everything except his nose..I *think* I see a bit of orange in his coat further down his back? But hey 4 out of 6 marked how you want isn't too shabby lol! :)

The one i thought was a dilute tri colour is actually a tort as well. My sister loves them all regardless of colour and we may keep the weird black one and see what s/he produces.
