One of our F1 Silver Fox/Creme d'argents had her second litter tonight. First litter was 7 all weaned, tonights was 7 live with one that looked mummified....

Momma and litter are fed adn fine...

thoughts?

Hmm. I don't know exactly what "mummified" means. I'd guess that it was DOA, probably died in the womb some time ago. Was it the same size as the live kits? I know in other animals, sometimes their umbilical cord gets kinked or tied in a not and they don't get enough nutrients.

if it was mummified, it was probably a hold over from a previous litter. I've never seen one, but I've heard that does can pass mummified kits with a second litter if they've managed to get preggers again. Some, if dealing with a mummy, never get preggers again.
