So excited to see that my Klubertanz cages I ordered over a month ago are out for delivery - arriving today!!
 :rabbit-hop2:
Next the "fun" of assembling them. :?
So, for those who have purchased them did you find them difficult to assemble?
Any tips to make the process go smoothly?
I have a stack of 30 x 30 & 30 x 36 J series coming.

Congrats! I have two stackers from Klubertanz, but they came already assembled from a breeder selling out years ago. I've found them very durable- more so than my cages from vendors. My only advice is to wear gloves, grab a helper if you can, and do you have a j-clip plier? Best of luck! :)

Thanks! Yes, I ordered a pair of J clip pliers with the order. I'll wear gloves!
Hoping it comes with good instructions!

I hope you ordered the good pliers. Even with gloves, the cheap ones are difficult to use without killing your hands, especially with good clips.

Last time we got cage materials, we followed MSD's advice to clip every 2 inches around the floor, to prevent sagging. Unfortunately, the cheap hardware store floor wire has sagged anyway. You got that good Klubertanz wire, 14-gauge, I'm assuming. It's not going to sag. But I'd clip it every 2" anyway.

If you got those heavy stainless steel J-clips, borrow some sheet metal installers to help you do the clips. LOL But seriously, they are some tough clips. They actually do have another drawback besides being hard to bend. It is difficult to get them to roll far enough that they fully close.

The cages finally came a few minutes ago. I will admit seeing all the supplies, knowing how much they all cost, and never having put something like this together (thus fear of mistake) I am overwhelmed just looking!! Yikes. Hoping it all makes sense when I get everything spread out. I do fear I probably ordered cheap pliers too. We shall see!

-- Mon Dec 22, 2014 2:21 pm --

It will. :) You'll get it.

Remember... for the floors, the 1/2" side goes up.

In that case, you will quickly find that your gloves are not enough protection. I finally resorted to oven mitts. :p

Thanks much for the reminder and encouragement Miss M!
I think I'll wait until tomorrow morning to start working on them.
Today is my birthday and I don't want to get stressed out on my birthday! :D

Well, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! :p :p :p

Happy birthday!

And what a terrific gift it would be to have someone put together some cages for you. Wait, you just happen to have some that need putting together!

Thank you for the Birthday wishes! I will take before and after pictures.
They were actually my birthday and Christmas gift and arrived perfectly timed! :)
It will be my job to at least attempt to put them together!
