Wondered if anyone had some suggestions where I might be able to find just 1 piece of 1"x1/2" welded wire that's 24"x24" in size? I purchased a used rabbit cage and this piece in the floor was removed.......... so the cage is useless as is.

Any suggestions where to find just one piece? I tried posting on Craigslist without any luck.

Most good hardware stores (the smaller ones like Ace, not the big ones like Home Depot) sell wire like this by the foot. It's generally not good quality, will sag, and won't last as long, but it'll do in a pinch. It may do okay if you're going to put a Holland Lop on it. It doesn't do well for a larger doe with a litter, which is my situation in one cage I have.

You can also order single floor panels from http://klubertanz.com/ (maybe other places as well). It's a bit more, but not much, especially for a little bit. What really makes the difference price-wise is the shipping, because of the dimensions. You might see if there is anything else you need, to make the shipping more palatable. :) Their wire is awesome, though.

It probably had a nest box that hung under the cage.

If you're in the states you could try Lowes. Some of them pet cage wire but it's not the real heavy stuff.

You've gotten some ideas for a single piece of wire, but I will throw this out there: get a small roll. Trust me, it will get used.

We just built three transport cages from old pallet pieces and wire scraps we had. Total cost- zero. And if I must say, they look pretty darn good.
