Can anyone please help me with the color of this baby? I am still new to the color stuff. I have only had Otters and Torts in the past but wanted to add more colors. I have had a few people say she is a Siamese smoke pearl, 1 person said she is a sable point(i don't think so), a couple people said a very light colored Siamese sable and 1 person said a Smoke pearl marten. She is 5 weeks old and her dad is a Black Himalayan with all of these colors in his pedigree and her mom is a Siamese sable with sable point, Himalayan, and Siamese sable in her pedigree.

I would guess sable point double shadded or a pointed or something.
Anyway I'm sure one of the color experts will be here shortly

The one who told me Sable point, said the same thing, double shaded sable point.

At 5 weeks old it's quite likely it will darken to a normal sable color from that shade over the next month or 2. Rather than stay a seal (double sable genes) point. Even if it stays that shade it could just be a light sable. I don't see any marten markings. This is a sable marten

Here's a young light sable (chlch)

Now if you want complicated this doe took a year to figure out but we finally decided on ataD*chdchlB*ee. I'm not sure what you call that.

I also believe she is a double shaded sable point - genetically = aa B_ cchl cchl D_ ee

Having two shaded genes on the C-locus rather than one darkens the colour

A martenized Sallander

Yes, I agree. It's a sable point. Not sure on the double shaded part, as it's young and the smut tends to grow out. I've had sable points look smuttier than that at that age and then end up very creamy colored. It's definitely not a Siamese sable. It's way too light.
