I have a lot of what appears to be narrowleaf plantain in our horse pasture that I was going to start to feed to our rabbits. I did find plantain on the safe list. The stuff in our pasture looks exactly like the picture at the fist link below.

We have a lot of it right now, pretty young and tender. Would it be safe to feed mixed with clover and volunteer rye grass, with the narrowleaf plantain not exceeding 30% of any one batch of greens? Our Am. Chinch. rabbits have been eating a lot of greens for about the last year or so.

Many thanks!

Mac

Narrowleaf plantain, also called Ribwort Plantain (Plantago lanceolata) is fine for rabbits. The Plantago family is a large one and as far as I know they are all safe for rabbits. I certainly have fed narrowleaf plantain to my rabbits on many occasions.
