So I never intended to breed chinchilla Rex in the first place. But the universe had other plans for me The chd gene "snuck" into my rabbitry in 2 different bucks that I thought I was getting to develop my chocolate line. HA!
The first buck was a broken black tortoise shell that I was ignorant enough to believe was a broken amber.
The second buck was an amber buck but I was again ignorant enough to neglect to ask to see a complete pedigree before I brought him home. Turns out he was out of lynx doe that was out of an ermine/frosty doe. So all the way around I brought in both the chd gene and the e non-extension gene.
Needless to say I have had LOTS of variety in many of my litters.
I always thought I wanted variety, I just didn't realize how various they would be
Anyway, I really do like this latest batch, even though there's mostly "unrecognized" kits in the batch.
I have: chinchilla & seal [recognized] and all the rest are UNrecognized: ermine/frosty, sallander & squirrel.
