Okay, so Penny is sick. With that green crap around her mouth. She's feeling a little better after getting some LA200.

I was watching my friends babies since their momma died (I posted graphic photos of that). The babies started dying one by one. Till she came and picked up the remaining four. So far I think they are all still alive.

This morning one of MY babies started showing the same symptoms that her babies had before they died.

Lethargic, limpness to start. Then head twirling, seizures and death.

Ideas? Suggestions? Disease? Treatment?

I had people waiting for babies, but I had to let them know that I will not be selling any live rabbits for a while.

You're doing the right thing, Dayna, putting strict quarantine in place and locking down the rabbitry. What a horrid situation. I wish I could tell you what the problem is, but frankly, I am stumped. It may be a form of wry neck and I suggest you read all you can about how it manifests itself in different situations.

The one that is close to death, I gave it LA200 and Ivermectin. Just in case. I figure it's going to die, but if it improves even marginally I have somewhere to start.

I did give Penny Ivermectin yesterday.... I wonder if THAT is whats making her feel better and not the LA200?

Thoughts and Prayers sent your way Dayna. I hate it for you, I had a virus hit my rabbits earlier this year. Ugh its awful! I can't really suggest anything either. Wish I could. [[HUGS]] :(

That has to be frustrrating. Sorry that you have to
Go through this. Hope you are able to figure out what's
Going on. :) good luck.

Okay, some may agree, some may disagree but I gave two things so far today.

BunnyVac
Ivermectin

If any show symptoms I will administer LA200.

__________ Sat Oct 05, 2013 6:30 pm __________

So far Penny is doing a lot better. I gave her another dose of LA200.

The other babies seem to be doing fine. They've had BunnyVac (which I now is not a medication) and Ivermectin. Tonight they all (penny included) dove into their pellets. Penny didn't want to eat anything last night. So this is a good sign! She still feels a bit hot, but I'm hesitant to give her any more meds.

Thoughts?

I'm not big on medicating rabbits, Dayna, but in a case like this where you cannot pinpoint the problem and the whole rabbitry is at risk, there is every reason to try more extreme measures. If it doesn't work, you're no worse off. If it does, you have valuable experience that your rabbits and other people's rabbits can benefit from.

It sounds as though there is improvement. Carry on!

The baby died. So I cut it open. All the organs looked healthy.
This sounds exactly like what I've been dealing with. We haven't medicated anyone because, quite frankly, we have no idea where to start.

All our adults are being culled tonight or tomorrow night. Definitely not suggesting you do that by any means, just what it's finally come to for us. The babies will either grow out or they won't. They've been dropping dead in spurts and we've got less than half of what we did 3 weeks ago. It's just easier for us to scrap everything and start over, since we have yet to have success with ANY of them.

Gosh, I feel for you both.

I am hoping, with the coming winter, that whatever this is will go away.

Well here, winter is about the same as summer. Only wetter.

__________ Mon Oct 07, 2013 6:34 am __________

So far no more sickness, no more deaths. Penny is feeling a lot better today. She was up running around the lanai when I got up this morning. Most active I've seen her since she became sick. And she drank a bunch of water and finished her bowl of pellets!
