My peanut lionhead died this morning after 3 1/2 months of life.

It was blind and lame at birth. Usually peanuts die few days after birth. I think they usually starve because they get pushed out of the way by healthy kits during feeding. I let it nurse alone before the other kits. It had a good appetite and after it started on solid food it was able to get its share without problem. It had no use of one hind leg but it was able to get around. It was blind but was able to go to food and the water bottle. It died weighing 3/4 pound. I don't know if it was ever in pain as I didn't see any signs. Don't know if I have peanuts again I'll help them to live or just feed them to my cat.
 
you only get peanuts from two rabbits that carry the dwarf gene, they can't eat, it's not the matter of being pushed away, they just can't eat. Runts, kits with various genetic issues, etc.. CAN eat.

I am sorry for your loss, it's hard to lose kits you've needed to fuss over.
